There has been a lot of talk in our house since the failed auction about me getting a real job. If we have two houses it really could put a ridiculous amount of financial pressure on us. Even if we rent our old house out, we still need to renovate the new one. The true is the whole thing scares me to death. I haven’t worked outside the home for more than 8 years. I really don’t know where to begin. I guess a resume is a good start, but I can’t remember the dates I began and ended my last couple of jobs, I could only work during school hours and I have not references. Who would employ me, I am 34 years old and I have no skills besides raising kids, drinking beer, and making hair accessories!

is it time to get a real job?

You've got more skills than me sweetie:) Your crafty and all that shiz!
It must be so scary with all the house stuff. I totally relate about the job situation. I've been out of the work force for way longer than you though. Good luck:)
I've emailed you, Kelly!
Actually, can't get an email to you. What I was going to say is - I can help with this, it's part of my real life job ;) I can help write your resume, we can do it via email and maybe a phone chat to get it all down. Easy. And free. You will absolutely have skills. Email me - blythe at apg-global dot com that is an actual hyphen between apg and global!)
If you need a job, you'll get one. Any employer would e lucky to have you, Kell. Especially in customer service roles - you are a careful listener, a kind person and I know you go the extra mile. See... part of your resume written already! x
Good luck with it whatever you decide. I never enjoy job hunting (and am also finding myself in a tricky job situation at the mo, so I sympathise). You have more skills than you think though it's just a matter of wording it right. Hope everything goes ok for you! :)

I went through the very same thing last fall. After being home for 8 years I went back to work. It wasn't as hard as I thought it would be. You are skilled, talented and a great person - you will find a job no problem.
Oh no! You're SO clever. Don't you think like that. You know the drill. You've just raised three kids. That's a lot of coordination, time management, conflict resolution. And you're SO creative!
I think by the time you put all these comments together, your resume is going to be simply GLOWING!
Quick, get busy. xxx
You're amazing!!
