Surprise Gift

I was out shopping with my sister Megan yesterday and she surprised me with a gorgeous gift. We walked into a jewellery store and she told me that Mum, Dad and herself wanted to buy me a Pandora bracelet. I have a soft spot for Pandora bracelets especially the black leather ones. I am so over the moon, I even got to choose a pretty charm to put on it. Thank you so much guys, it look so pretty on my wrist, and I will treasure it always.

When was the last time you received a surprise gift? What was it?

Looking forward to...

photograph found here

I am looking forward to seeing Jeff Martin on Saturday night at the Corner Hotel. If you don’t know who Jeff Martin is, he was the lead singer of The Tea Party. I am pretty excited, I loved The Tea Party and I have seen them live once before in my 20’s. He takes his lyrics into dark places, and I love that. & the Spanish guitar sounds so hypnotic!   He reminds me of Jim Morrison, he kind of look like him don’t you think?

In the messy kitchen

I love baking! It makes me happy and the house smells so good.

Skye and I made Cinnamon scrolls and Lamingtons this morning.

I cheated and used packet mixes today, it make baking easy and quick.

Eating Cinnamon Scrolls for breakfast on a Monday morning is Heaven!

I haven’t tasted the Lamingtons yet, but Skye and Reuben tell me that they taste fantastic!

Learning to let go, and be kinder to myself,

I am trying to accepting things I cannot change,

Looking for the positives in negative thoughts,

I will balance the juggling act better this week!

today...

I woke up to sounds of fighting again this morning. Why can’t my kids just get along so I can finally have a sleep in? I am feeling worn out and tired.

We are hanging out inside today; it rained all night and its cold and wet outside. I am trying to keep them busy and quite, Reuben worked nightshift last night.

It seems to be an impossible task, would it be cruel to send them all in the cubby house outside until Reuben is awake?

I dream of being able to just get in my car and drive far far away from everyone and everything. I just want to escape for a while, and just be by myself.

Does anyone else ever feel like this, sometimes?

i’ve lost the blogging feeling

i’ve lost the blogging feeling…

i don’t know what is wrong with me

but for the last couple of days I just couldn’t bring myself to post

i want to keep my blog a happy cheerful place

but all I am feeling is doom and gloom

sometimes it’s okay not to be OK

hopefully I will be back to normal shortly

if not tomorrow, maybe in the next day or so...

This Saturday I'm grateful for...SUN

I am emotionally exhausted! It had been a hard few days. I can feel a negative whingy post coming on about how hard motherhood and running your own business is. But thankfully to maxabella loves its grateful Saturday so you are spared from reading such a post.

This Saturday simply put I am grateful for SUN

The sun is shining in Melbourne and everything always feels better when the sun out. This morning I am going to turn the music up and clean this messy house of mine. I will open all the blinds and windows letting the sun rays pour in. Then I'll take the dogs for a walk and I might let the children come too. This afternoon it will be all about taking pictures of all my new stock.

Today I will be happy no matter what, because the sun says so…

Eerie Feeling

Yesterday afternoon, I was alone in the house for a few hours. The children were at school/kinder and my husband was a work. I was sitting at my work table making hair clips and the feeling of being watched crept up on me. I didn’t feel alone in the house anymore. The sensation started to freak me out, so I got up and walk around the house checking each room to make sure no one was there. The house was completely empty but I still felt like someone was there!

This isn’t the first time I have had this eerie feeling happen to me. But it was been a while since the last occurrence.  I didn’t feel like it wanted to harm me, but I didn’t feel loved either. Most times I have this particular feeling I smell violets and roses and I know it’s my Nanna checking in on me. And I feel loved and secure. Yesterday it was a different feeling and not necessary bad. It just wasn’t my Nanna this time.

Do you believe in sprits? Do you have any stories to tell?

Side note - have ever googgled ghost pictures? There is a lot of scary shit out there that will send shivers down your spine.

rain go away!

The sun has gone away we had a small glimpse of it early this morning and now it’s followed by rain. I had so many plans for the sun today. I have tons of new hair clips and headbands to photograph so I can list them in my store. And I had a grand plan to get a great picture of the giveaway pack, so I can finally post it on my blog. I also have a huge basket of washing to dry. None of these things will get done with the sky so grey and gloomy.

Rain, rain please go away and come again another day!

Point & Shoot: Jack O'lantern

We had a lot of fun on Sunday celebrating Halloween. Alex, Phoenix and Skye dressed up as little vampires, ate lollies, put a lot of face paint on and we carved a pumpkin. When the children were in bed, Reuben (husband) and I watched a vampire movie called 30 days of night.

We didn’t trick or treat, I hate the idea of my children knocking on doors and eating candy from strangers. But we did have a bowl of lollies in case we had some trick or treater’s. In the end only one group of four came to the door, three black kitty cats and one red devil. Halloween seriously isn’t a big deal in our area.

When I woke up this morning Skye told me how much she loved Halloween. I was pretty glad I made the effort this year to do some fun things, we are creating childhood memories!

Join in on the fun over at fat mum slim’s today!
