The Jezabels

On Friday night I saw The Jezabels perform live at The Forum in Melbourne with my friends; Leisha, Scott, Meredith and her sister Tania.

The Jezabels were awesome!!! Hayley Mary has such a powerful stage presence and a unique voice.  The fact that they are an Aussie band makes them even better.

The support bands are great too; Alpine and Hey Rosetta.  I especially liked Alpine - I can wait for them to release an album.

Rare

A bit blurry and grainy but its sweet picture anyway of Skye and I. So rare to find a picture of myself that I actually like.

Renewed my drivers license today - I dread to think what it will look like when it comes in the mail.I am more comfortable behind the camera than I am in front of it.

I've been spending most of my energy creating pretty hair accessories trying to fill my store with handmade goodness before Christmas so I can relax a little over the silly season. The more I make the more I sell, I don't seem to be that getting a jump on things like I had hoped for. But I'm not complaining -

The kids have settled back into the school routine well, even with daily swimming lessons for the pass week and a half.  Skye lost her second baby tooth on the weekend, and the replacement adult tooth has already broken though the gum. Phoenix seems to have grown overnight - all this clothes are way to short. Alex was excited about choosing her elective subjects for Year 9.

This year seems to have gone by way too fast...wish I could hit pause and catch my breath.

Our Trip

Last week we went away for a few days on a whirlwind road trip. We continued the Ned Kelly tour and saw old buildings like; banks, courthouses, jail cells; bridges, cemeteries and museums. Towns we stopped at; Seymore (to visit my Nana Freda's grave), Avenel, Euroa, Bealla, and Glenrowan. Basically any where that Ned Kelly or his family had been, we stopped the car and had a look. We spend the night in Beechworth in a little cabin. It was a lot of fun, and the children really enjoyed it.

Beechworth was a lovely little town, we didn't have time to see everything you could see. I would love to go back one day and do a ghost tour at the lunatic asylum and the old gaol.

We spend a night in Cobram with my auntie Jessie, and had dinner at my cousin Susan's house. She has two beautiful kids Billie & Chaz. Her husband Paul is a tattoo artist, next time I am in Cobram I will have to go and checkout his shop. Watching our children play together reminded me of my childhood. I pretty much grew up with my cousins and we had awesome times.

Old Melbourne Gaol

School holidays are almost over, the children go back to school on Tuesday.  I have really enjoyed having them home, but I will be nice to get back to the normal routine.  The first week was spend relaxing at home; reading books and playing computer games. The weather in Melbourne was wet and cold.  On the second week we treated the children to the Ned Kelly tour, which kicked off at the Old Melbourne Gaol and The State Library -

{Little Girls Club} Cath, Izzy, Bella, Jessica, Emily and Jaz
Amanda & Amelia
Yesterday our friends Shane and Angela hosted this years Grand Final BBQ. Things have definitely change over the last couple of years with most having babies. The group is bigger, louder and messier, than it ever was when it was just the adults drinking & partying. The adults are almost out numbered now. It seems like just yesterday, when Reuben and I were the only ones with a family.  It feels weird to be the ones with the oldest children in the group.

My son Phoenix (8yrs) came home last night exhausted and went straight to bed without eating dinner. Apparently the girls wouldn't stop talking and following him around. My poor little man, I felt so sorry for him. There will come a time when he will love to being harassed by girls :)

I wish I had taken more pictures, but I seemed to spend the afternoon having lovely conversations instead. Which is more important anyways.
