This week I'm grateful for

This week I'm grateful for;

1) My Camera, I'm the most happiest when I am snapping pictures of my family, my garden, my designs and anything I can find.

2) My husband, I just love him to bits. He really is everything to me. We got a little drunk together on Thursday night and we were having so much fun laughing and talking. Didn't feel to good on Friday morning though, but it was worth it.

3) Alex, my elder daughter she is the most amazing helper in the house. She baked the yummiest Cinnamon scrolls this week for school lunch box treats and we have been eating them all week.

This week I am grateful for...

1) The yellow weeds {above image} - Dandelion, they are so pretty and it I feel a little sad when my husband mows the grass and they disappear. Our front yard is covered in them at the moment and it makes me smile everyday.

2) My new 50mm 1.4 lens! Oh my goodness I don’t know why it took me so long to move away from my kit lens. I just love the soft dreamy focus at 1.4 and the sharpness at 2.8.

3) Tissues – with all 5 of us sick with a cold this week, I don’t know how we would live without the fabulous invention “the box of tissues”!

This Saturday I'm grateful for...January

This Saturday I am grateful for the month of January. Everything has slowed down and life feels simpler. The madness of Christmas is over and the children are still home on school holidays. Lots of sleep ins, and lazy days at home. I feel more relaxed and at peace with myself. The sun is shining and the temperature is heating up. I’ll be visiting my best friend this afternoon, and a trip to beach is in my future.

Happy Weekend everybody!

This Saturday I'm grateful for...SUN

I am emotionally exhausted! It had been a hard few days. I can feel a negative whingy post coming on about how hard motherhood and running your own business is. But thankfully to maxabella loves its grateful Saturday so you are spared from reading such a post.

This Saturday simply put I am grateful for SUN

The sun is shining in Melbourne and everything always feels better when the sun out. This morning I am going to turn the music up and clean this messy house of mine. I will open all the blinds and windows letting the sun rays pour in. Then I'll take the dogs for a walk and I might let the children come too. This afternoon it will be all about taking pictures of all my new stock.

Today I will be happy no matter what, because the sun says so…

Point & Shoot: Jack O'lantern

We had a lot of fun on Sunday celebrating Halloween. Alex, Phoenix and Skye dressed up as little vampires, ate lollies, put a lot of face paint on and we carved a pumpkin. When the children were in bed, Reuben (husband) and I watched a vampire movie called 30 days of night.

We didn’t trick or treat, I hate the idea of my children knocking on doors and eating candy from strangers. But we did have a bowl of lollies in case we had some trick or treater’s. In the end only one group of four came to the door, three black kitty cats and one red devil. Halloween seriously isn’t a big deal in our area.

When I woke up this morning Skye told me how much she loved Halloween. I was pretty glad I made the effort this year to do some fun things, we are creating childhood memories!

This Saturday I'm grateful for...Rain, Sugar and 80s Music

This Saturday I am grateful for:

Rain – It rained for almost 8 hours straight overnight it’s wonderful for our newly planted garden beds.

Sugar – My caramel slice was a flop this afternoon, but the sugar in it makes it taste nice anyway.

80s Music – My husband has just left for work and the kids and I have one of the foxtel music channels turn up loud and we are dancing around the lounge room to classic music from the 80s.

This Saturday I'm grateful for...Hair Clips, Flowers and my Husband

{January 2007 – Skye modelling one of my ordinal hand cut and sewn felt flower hair clips}

This Saturday I'm grateful for...

1.Hair Fairy Clips, my wonderful home grown business. I started making hair clips in October 2006, 4 years ago. Skye was 10 months old, and had this crazy Mohawk sticky up hair do, and I want to tame it so I started making my own hair clips. I sold my first handmade felt flower hair clip on EBay for $2 and I was hooked. My business has grown a lot in four years, I am so proud of everything I have achieved.

2.Spring flowers, are everywhere! I will be driving along in the car and be total distracted by all the beauty outside the window. I am lucky I haven’t had a car accident yet.

3.My husband, I have hardly seen him this week, but when I have he has been very understanding and supportive. He knows how to calm me down and relieve some of the stress of the week.

Point & Shoot: Weekend Goodness

{Skye declared that Chloe was her best friend this weekend}

I had another busy weekend full of warm goodness!

On Saturday we headed to another BBQ with friends for the grand final again. I didn’t see much of the game, sport watching isn’t really my thing. But I have a lovely afternoon with the girls sitting in Sam and Glenn’s garden drinking and chatting whist the kid’s blew bubbles.

Sunday my sister Meg and I went shopping and then to gold class and saw an advanced screening of “Eat Pray Love”. I loved it, definitely a must see! I will have to grab myself a copy of the book sooner than later. I have a huge to read pile as it is, sitting on my side table besides the bed.

this saturday i'm grateful for...holidays, music and bbqs!

I'm back from our little family holiday, I have lots pictures to post for show and tell during the week. Today I am playing along with Maxabella loves, which is becoming a new Saturday ritural.

 This Saturday I am grateful for

1.Three day holiday with my family exploring The Great Ocean Road. I hope one day Reuben and I can retire and buy a house somewhere along the road. To live by the ocean would be wonderful.

2.Just discovered that the lead singer from one of my all time favourite bands (The Tea Party) is going to be playing a gig in November. Jeff Martin you rock, love your music and can’t wait to hear you sing live again.

3.We will be heading off for a grand final footy BBQ at Sam and Glenn’s house shorty. I’m not really into sport, and couldn’t care less who wins. But I will enjoy a steak on the babie and being with my friends.

point & shoot: tree hugger

My gorgeous son, Phoenix hugging a tree in our front yard. He really is one of the most beautiful souls in this world. I love being his mumma.

Our weekend was mostly lazy and sweet. Hanging out with my lovely family at home; pancakes for breakfast, family movies, hugs, kisses, reading my book, watching masterchef junior and fish and chips on sunday for dinner. I am truly blessed by the powers that be. We all needed a slow, quiet and sweet weekend at home together and we got it.

How was your weekend? I am playing along with point and shoot at fatmumslim!

point & shoot: fruit tree

We have a little fruit tree in our backyard. I can’t even remember what kind of fruit it is meant to grown, as I have never picked one. One of our dogs, Kendra is loves to eat fruit and vegetables and every time the tree starts to grow fruit she gobbles it up. I am drawn to this tree, with a new obsession. The little pink flowers are so heavenly, and I love to photograph them. We planted my son Phoenix's placenta under this tree after he was born so it’s a special tree. One day when it has grown nice and tall, Kendra won’t be able to reach the fruit and I might finally discover what fruit tree it is.
